Some motherhood sessions stay with you long after the camera is put away. Amara’s motherhood sessions are exactly that kind of experience— an unfolding and intentional, and filled with the sweetest moments between a mother and her two girls. I’ve photographed Amara and her daughters before, but this season felt especially meaningful.
When she shared her desire to fill her new home with portraits, we knew this motherhood session needed to be truly special. Together, we carefully planned a two-hour studio session with three outfit changes, and then we moved into a sunset outdoor session to add movement and warmth. As a result, the images exceeded our hopes—appearing elegant yet playful, deeply personal, and full of heart.
The Heart of Amara’s Motherhood Sessions
Capturing her girls at each stage has always been important to Amara. So, this motherhood session became her way of keeping the beauty of their right-now moments—the softness of their hands, the way they reach for her, and the giggles they share.
From the start, we chose every detail with care: the styling, the mood, the colors, and the flow of the day. The girls looked beautiful, wearing the sweetest capes for the outdoor session. I love the matching pink cowboy boots they all wore.
All of these details came together to create images that feel dreamy, timeless, and full of joy, perfectly showing the magic of this motherhood session.
The Studio Session
We began the motherhood session indoors with hair and makeup by Lori Marshall at Edge Hair and Makeup, giving Amara a calm and unhurried start to the day. At the same time, the girls wore carefully chosen pieces from Hopscotch Kids—Rylee + Cru dresses, Noralee shoes, and classic jeans and tees that photographed beautifully.
With the studio wardrobe focused on soft, feminine looks, the session unfolded naturally and effortlessly. From playful moments on the floor to quiet, intimate portraits, we captured the genuine connection between mother and daughters, highlighting both joy and tenderness throughout the motherhood session.

The Outdoor Session
The girls twirled in their Noralee dresses from Hopscotch Kids, paired with the sweetest pink Shyanne boots from Boot Barn. Meanwhile, Emily Desanto styled Amara’s hair, and Amelia Edwards added a soft, natural polish with makeup.
As the sun was setting, the girls twirled and their capes fluttered gracefully. In those moments, everything felt effortless and magical. Moreover, these outdoor motherhood session images will be printed in color, adding warmth, life, and vibrancy to Amara’s new home.

Artwork for Her New Home
After her home is finished, Amara plans to showcase a curated collection of portraits from her motherhood session. We will design to two wall collections using timeless black-and-white studio images and their beautiful color outdoor portraits. In addition, she ordered a full digital collection that pairs with prints in keepsake boxes, small framed prints, a 9×12 heirloom album, and a companion album.
These portraits from her motherhood session will become the visual heart of her new home. Together, it create a storytelling display that feels personal, meaningful, and timeless.

During the outdoor part of their motherhood session, the girls twirled in the cutest little capes, bringing energy, beauty, and playfulness to the images. Every detail—from outfit choices to hair styling—helped them feel confident, playful, and camera-ready. Giggles, twirls, and shared moments filled the day, bringing out authentic smiles and expressions.
